peanut butter – lettuce – mayo sandwiches
We were out of lunch meat and cheese (time for a trip to the grocery store…again) so today I made myself a peanut butter and marshmallow creme sandwich; which I really enjoy and which I wasn’t allowed to eat as a child. [And by the way, yes, I am totally ignoring the fact that I haven't posted or commented in centuries]. While I desired the marshmallow creme, my mom didn’t want me to get into the habit of having too much sugar so I requested a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich. Logically, as a kid they looked kinda the same to me. In the same vein of brilliant thinking, I added some lettuce to, I suppose, add some crunch. And this was a regular thing as far as I can remember. I cannot imagine eating that now. Good thing I am now a mom and can add sugar to the occasional sandwich. I think that might be healthier than my chosen combo as a child!
What is a wierd / gross food combo that you have enjoyed?

Uhhhm, peanut butter, mayo and lettuce? Was it at least organic:)?
Best I could do on combo meals is baloney, strawberry jam and mayo sandwich…as a teenager. Cooked the baloney sometimes…maybe cheese sometimes, but not sure if that was in the recipe.
By the way, you’ve got the “bloganointing.”

You make me laugh! Okay, that is possibly more gross than my sandwich. Yuck.
And concerning the “bloganointing”…thanks, I think. Haha!

Fried insects (grasshopper, insect larva) would be consder by most Americans as wierd, but not in Japan, where I had it.
I hated liver as a child, and put mayo on it to disguise the taste. It didn’t work.
Ah, yes, bug cuisine. Danielle, you and I dined on those little delicacies in Africa; ‘member?
My sister used to eat spoonfuls of mustard. My brother tried orange juice on his Rice Krispies. He also did the peanut butter and pickle sandwich. I was too grossed out to be adventurous like them.

Yes! We done the bug thing! Not good, but not too big of a deal. I heard someone describe eating fried / baked grub worms as this: take a box of corn flakes, pour cereal into a bowl…and eat the box! It made me laugh. It’s so true. I always imagined eating grubs is what eating tree bark would taste like.
The secret to making anything taste good is to wrap it in bacon, than BBQ it.
All the bug dishs I tried tasted like whatever sauces it was cooked with.
so nast!
but i’ll try anything once.
i wouldn’t reccomend that you do try this!
okay- that combination is SO questionable!!
I never had a strange combination- but all through middle school and most of high school, I ate beefaroni and coke for breakfast. NAST!
LOL!! Can’t remember any. I do remember having bologna sandwiches (bologna only … no sauce or anything) and squishing the bread down flat. People thought that was odd. But it’s not really gross.
